The word “Marche”, for those in the know, means handcrafted in Italy footwear. Marche, for the rest of us, is the beautiful geographic area in the centre of Italy.
Within this region, it is a pleasure to discover the traditional footwear craftsmanship. Something like 500 small local family factories are responsible for the production of the majority of the luxurious footwear you find around the world. From Bond Street in London to Via Montenapoleone in Milan, through Fifth Avenue in New York and Ginza in Tokyo, think of the shoes on display coming from some small factories on hilltop villages of this lovely region.
In the middle of this fabulous district you can find Montegranaro, it is in this medieval village where signs of shoemakers are dating back from 300AD, that the family factory Lancio with expertise and passion is making Jack&Me mens shoes a reality.
And Marche is not only shoes… with its 180km of coastline, 1million hectares of mountains and hills, hundreds of characteristic hilltop villages, house of 1500 hectares of vineyards (Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Verdicchio), producer of their very special maccheroncini egg pasta of Campofilone, there is very little the region of Marche cannot offer.
